Mexican Chocolate Crisp

Does anyone else love Nestle's Crunch bars?

No? Just me?

Good, then you probably don't want to make this DIY chocolate bars.

Ashley's popped amaranth cereal turned into one of the best chocolate add-ins ever! Popping amaranth is just like popping popcorn on a smaller scale. To learn how, check out this post.

Whoops, that one didn't last long!

Cook Time: 0 minutes

Ingredients (about 12 small pieces)
  • 1/2 bag chocolate chips
  • 2/3 cup popped amaranth
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time, mixing the chips in between each nuke session, until the chocolate is fully melted.
Stir in cinnamon, cayenne and popped amaranth.
Pour melted chocolate out onto a cookie sheet covered in parchment. Spread out chocolate so it's about 1/4 inch thick.
Place cookie sheet into freezer until chocolate sets. Take it out and break it into bit-sized pieces.
